Altec Lansing Celebrates Expansion

Milford, PA-based audio manufacturer cuts ribbon on new 80,000 sq ft warehouse.

MILFORD, PA (September 8, 2006) -- Altec Lansing employees cut the ribbon to their new 80,000 square foot warehouse, unveiled yesterday, at their Milford-based headquarters. The official scissors were handled by seven long-time employees, each with an Altec Lansing career of 30 years or more. The importance of honoring these dedicated employees illustrates Altec Lansing's longstanding appreciation for the resources here in the Milford area. With similar commitment to the local community, the electronics conglomerate built the new warehouse to strengthen its corporate operations in Pike County.

Altec Lansing CEO and President Bob Garhwaite kicked-off the ribbon cutting ceremony with a few words expressing Altec Lansing's pride towards this very important expansion project. The new warehouse will serve as storage and distribution for the company's broad variety of speaker systems and audio products. Planning for the project began in January 2006 and includes a water retention pond to supply a sprinkler system for fire protection. The warehouse is connected to Altec Lansing's existing 70,000 square foot warehouse.

Craig Boelsen, Vice President of Supply Chain, attended yesterday's event with the rest of Altec Lansing's local employees to celebrate what the new warehouse means: growth. "Once we determined our projected growth rate and storage requirements, we analyzed whether or not the best solution was to build additional warehousing or outsource warehouse space. Our decision to build came from both a business decision as well as a statement to the area. We have been here for 40 plus years and we are glad to call Northeast Pennsylvania our home," stated Craig Boelsen.

Today Altec Lansing employs a total of 1600 people worldwide with 133 employed at the Milford-based global headquarters. With the use of its new warehouse and two other distribution centers, located in California and Holland, Altec Lansing will continue to compete effectively in the quick-pace consumer electronics markets.
